Dr. Zottoli has been appointed as a Co-Chair of the Plea Bargaining Institute's (PBI) Academic Working Group. The PBI is a groundbreaking project that provides a global intellectual home for academics, policymakers, advocacy organizations, and practitioners working to promote and translate scientific research to inform plea bargaining reform efforts, policy initiatives, and legislation. In her role, Dr. Zottoli will engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with fellow co-chairs, Dr. Rebecca Helm (University of Exeter) and Dr. Miko Wilford (Iowa State University), to conduct research that directly informs litigation and policy making. Their work will ensure that pressing concerns from practitioners and advocacy organizations are addressed through rigorous scientific inquiry, enriching the global discourse on plea bargaining.
